“With a 45,500 capacity, Foxtel needed to put on a big show to fill the arena for its exclusive 500-odd audience. And it delivered.” Mumbrella
With a dazzling production at Sydney’s newly renovated Allianz Stadium, Foxtel Upfront 2023 went off with a bang in October 2022.
Living up to the theme “Game Changed”, the media company presented their lineup of content, as well as their vision and initiatives for the next 12 months, to an audience of 500 media buyers, agency reps and marketers.
Led by Foxtel group CEO Patrick Delany and Foxtel Media CEO Mark Frain, the impeccable presentation was produced by the team at Alfred who used the backdrop of the stadium and embraced the sports-related theme to deliver a slick, exhilarating performance complete with pyrotechnics showing how the company has transformed in response to the evolving media and entertainment landscape. The speakers addressed the crowd from a custom-built stage, stacked with fluorescent podiums, inset into one of the grandstands with the expanse of the playing field behind.
A performance by Tim Minchin, the star of one of Foxtel’s key content offerings, Upright, was a switch-up from the sports-heavy aspects of the evening in which Foxtel wanted to express a focus on watchability, connectivity and useability. The night was capped off with flame throwers and fireworks worthy of a grand final.
Other talent that made appearances throughout the night included, host of The Great Australian Bake Off Cal Wilson, Selling Houses Australia hosts Wendy Moore, Andrew Winter and Dennis Scott, and Strife star actress Asher Keddie.
