“This five-day bonanza is basically Splendour in the Grass, but for the best of Australia’s small bar scene.” Divya Venkataraman, Time Out
Celebrating the best of Australia’s best bars, bartenders, cocktails and spirits, the World Class Cocktail festival descended on Sydney bringing five days of epic programming featuring the definitive names in Australian hospitality.
Unexpected collaborations, cinema screenings and secret parties from some of the country’s finest popped up across the city, including a Mexican cinema series (and Don Julio tequila matched cocktails) at Golden Age Bar and cool taste-making collaborations between Cantina OK! x Shwarmama, Icebergs x The Hollywood and Byrdi x Butter.
The festival also saw Bulletin’s Place installation pop-up Belsazar Place move into its new laneway home, a tribute to Berlin’s small bar scene and named after the German vermouth, served with salty pretzels on the side. Some of the country’s best bars also moved onto Sydney’s turf with their own pop-ups for the specially curated event, including The Everleigh, Byrdi, Black Pearl and Africola.
