‘The Chopsticks & Dope Kicks event hosted by Dan Hong went down on Thursday, bringing together the celebrity chef’s love of food and sneakers together in a night of great food and wine. Dan Hong’s sneaker obsession has been well documented on his Instagram account, so it was fitting for Alfred to create a concept that smashed together the celebrated Sydney chef’s passions to bring together a sneaker themed night as part of March in Merivale food and wine festival in Sydney based on ‘Guilty Pleasures’.
Hong announced that guests would be tasting some dishes inspired by the sneaker brands; “New Balance reflects quality and well-made sneakers, so you can expect some really luxurious ingredients in those dishes.”
Held at his Ms G’s restaurant in Potts Point, the ‘Chopsticks & Dope Kicks’ event transformed the venue into a sneaker den to celebrate Dan’s combined passion for sneakers and food.
Some dug up gems from within the Sneaker Freaker vault were displayed next to some of Dan’s own collection, and the team at Ms. G’s led by head chef Paul Donnelly served up a special sneaker-themed menu filled with their signature Asian Fusion dishes.
